BIDC: Uoft's heart of biotech innovation

Founded in 2024 at the University of Toronto, the Biotechnology Innovation and Development Club (BIDC) was established by students passionate about biotechnology and entrepreneurship. Our club emerged from the belief that real innovation comes not just from scientific knowledge, but from turning discoveries into meaningful, real-world impact. BIDC’s foundation lies in the intersection of science, business, and community engagement, empowering students across all levels and backgrounds to become tomorrow’s biotech leaders.
To empower aspiring biotechnologists and entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to navigate and lead in the ever-evolving biotechnology industry.
We envision a thriving campus community where innovation, collaboration, and the entrepreneurial spirit fuel the next generation of biotech breakthroughs that benefiting society, healthcare, and the environment.
